Important Update 2020 PostEurop Plenary Assembly

The health, safety and well-being of all PostEurop Members remain our top priority. Over the past weeks, we have been closely monitoring and reporting on the developments of the global Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and the Government policies in place, which have substantially changed the way we operate. An extensive review was performed for the 2020 PostEurop Plenary Assembly and Business Forum planned to take place in Dublin, Ireland, in October this year. In addition, An Post, as hosting postal operator, was consulted on several occasions.

At the 119th Management Board held on 4 June 2020, the Board reflected on every aspect of the review and current situation. After strong considerations, the following decisions have been made pertaining to the 2020, 2021 and 2022 PostEurop Plenary Assemblies and Business Forums:

  • The 2020 PostEurop Plenary Assembly will be held as a half-day virtual meeting. The agenda will consist of mandatory issues as part of the legal fulfillment of the Association’s governance. In addition, a maximum of two business presentations on topical issues are foreseen with the opportunity for live chats afterwards. The date of the virtual event is Thursday, 8 October 2020 as originally planned.
  • The 2021 PostEurop Plenary Assembly and Business Forum will take place in Dublin, Ireland, hosted by An Post. Participants can anticipate having an in-person meeting provided that the situation has improved substantially.
  • The 2022 PostEurop Plenary Assembly and Business Forum will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, hosted by Bulgarian Post, who has agreed to the new arrangement.

Although we are disappointed that the Plenary cannot be held as originally planned, we are committed to heighten the experience of the upcoming virtual Plenary and look forward to receiving you in-person in Dublin next year.

More details and information about the PostEurop Plenaries and Business Forums, particularly the 8 October 2020 virtual Plenary Assembly, will be available at a later date. Meanwhile, please share any questions or concerns with us at  info@posteurop.org

Yours sincerely,
