The 2020 Most Beautiful EUROPA Stamp winner for the online competition is Turkish Post PTT.
Taking on the theme “Ancient Postal Routes”, a total of 55 entries took part in this year’s EUROPA online voting competition. A new record number of votes was received, marking a new milestone with over 38 thousand votes reached!
The results of this year’s online EUROPA Stamp competition were disclosed during the virtual PostEurop Plenary Assembly in which, Turkish PTT (Turkey), Haypost C.J.S.C. (Armenia) and Azerpost (Azerbaijan) were revealed as the top three winners, respectively.
“I would like to thank everyone who voted during the online competition. A 53% increase in votes tells us that the online competition is gaining popularity. It makes me happy to see the growing engagement from voters all around the globe, this is highly beneficial for philately in general. This year’s theme was extremely special for PostEurop Members, giving us a certain nostalgic like feeling which represents the early days of our unique industry. I am happy to see that philatelic enthusiasts also have that same vibe, thanks to the beautiful illustrations and to the passion of our designers” said Agnieszka Trząskowska, Chair of the PostEurop Stamps and Philately working group from Poczta Polska S.A.
“Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we had a more complex process this year, , as one could understand. Still, I could not have imagined a more successful outcome for this year’s online competition. It makes me happy to see that more and more philatelic enthusiasts are engaging with the EUROPA Stamps. It Is also worth to add that, European Postal Operators showed an impeccable response plan during these challenging times, by keeping their workers safe, while ensuring the safe delivery of goods to our customers. This capability of adapting quickly during difficult situations not only reflects this year’s theme due to the difficulties Postal Operators had to face in the past when delivering goods, but it also shows we are able to also adapt to modern times” added Botond Szebeny, PostEurop Secretary General.
Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to next year’s theme “Endangered National Wildlife”.
The 2020 EUROPA Stamps Jury competition has been postponed to mid-October 2020.
