Background and objectives:
A. External / Market: Offer of a basic tracking solution, focussed on only a few relevant tracking events (dispatch, sorting center) for all target groups (private customers and business customers) and all relevant channels (via app, website and API)
B. Internal / DeutschePostDHL: Utilization of newly acquired tracking event data about every letter (dispatch, sorting center) as a basis for e.g., revenue protection, quality improvement, shipment volume management or complaint management
Success factors and mail tracking roadmap (by target groups):
1. “Stamp scan and tracking option” for private customers in the Post & DHL app based on the new matrix code for stamps (2021)
2. Outgoing mail book for small and medium-sized business customers including recipient address registered via OCR – and thus transparency about all outgoing mail at the sender level (2021)
3. API offers for partial services customers and other major business customers for integration into their own internal systems (e.g. invoicing systems) (2022)
